Backlog.

Last weekend was spent outdoors. From rounding Singapore to lepaksing at Esplanade to chilling at Changi Airport.
I guess Daddy was pretty energetic; dat's why.

First and foremost, i would have to say that it is sad that Isolde@Ruzanna had to leave this blog so soon. Well, many of you would be wondering why she makes such a decision.

Before you guys make several different assumptions, i would want to stress that:

1. We did not fight.
2. We did not cat-fight.
3. We did not WWE-fight.
4. We did not bicker nor argue;

which some of you may conclude.

As far as i am concerned, the sole reason of her departure is because she has lost the passion to blog and thus is taking a period rest until her creative blogging juices will form up in her left brain again.
Till when is that?
I have no idea but let's all hope and pray that she will come back soon.

To honour her presence with me in this humble blog of ours;
i would wanna toast her the love of my friendship
and of coz prayers so that she will have a smooth-sailing;
happy ending journey of her life;
confined by her own heart as her personal blog.
May Allah bless her with endless peace and serenity
and may our friendship bloom till the end of time

mixed sweet-salty popcorns
and along with that,
this pair of sisters who
don't drink carbonated/fizzy drinks (since young),
had medium sized iced lemon tea.

Allah reminded me of how
everything is in His hands yesterday.
life & death.

how all's best in His hands.
it was pouring when prayers were done.
had it not been raining,
many will not be indoors offering du'as.

the skies turned clear and sunny and
allowed the burial process to go smoothly.

i woke up today feeling ever so grateful

to be given the chance to live for another day.

alhamdulillah.

despite having people who enjoy trying to

put my family and i down

despite getting headaches due to

conflicts happening around me

and knowing all these may never end.

but today, i'm grateful

to be given the chance to live for another day.

to live as a believer of Islam

to live as someone who loves Allah

to live as an ummah who misses Rasulullah.

afterall, Jannah is veiled in hardships & misery.

anyway, if this is friendship, i do not want it anymore.
i know people choose their friends
but i didn't know you also choose
when to be a friend and
on other days, a true example of a foe.
maybe friendships aren't my thing
that's why God made
my whole family and i so close.

i'm back.

exams ended last thursday evening.
the 3 weeks tested me in many ways.
mentally, psychologically, emotionally.
the first 3 papers were horrible.
one after another.
maybe i was already numb.
that's why i didn't feel as upset after the 4th paper.
& i ended the exams feeling alright.
not great, for sure.
just, fine.

exams for us university of london -lse undergrads in singapore
were held at singapore expo hall 7.
i don't know if those uol non-lse undergrads,
like the english lit or psychology people,
had their papers there too.
whatever it is, we had sim, stansfield college, acca etc.
uol-lse doing the paper together in the chilly hall.

before being allowed to enter the exam hall:

since pencil cases are not allowed, this is the way to go:

important documents (this is taken after i've sat for all papers,

notice the obvious creases on the paper after being folded and unfolded many times):

i came home and the first i did

was to watch tv.

i was in for a treat coz at that time

'the contender'

was shown on axn.

the boxing gurus on the show:

i wasn't much of a boxing fan

but this show made me into one.

i love it when the respective

the loved ones

will come down to the ring

to watch the match.

how they scream out words of encouragement.

clap hard and exclaim real loud when the win's on their side.

or when the one didn't make it,

they'll hold back tears and through those tears,

he is their winner.

i love it when some will reveal that

the reason why he wants to win the competition

isn't just because boxing is his passion.

it's because he loves his family.

and he would like to let them have

a wonderful life ahead

and to have enough money ready

for his kids to go to college.

coz i know i'm a desk-person

Gosh, it feels good to come back.
Really, I've been busy & so is Isolde.

I had a hard time trying to adjust to a correct work kinda sleeping routine.
I had to do self study about my work scope.

I like my job.

Could still remember how they tried to annoy and irritate me;

Minus Dad, all of us headed down to KFC to have a
Pre-MD lunch together;
since Lil Bro(Monkey) did very well for his

A good warm-up aggregate score before the actual PSLE though.

& So i've been busy.

With lotsa stuff;
namely Movie marathon in the comforts of my own home & paying back lost sleep.

It's really good to sleep with no worries about unfinished readings and whatnots.
This 3 mths vacation is indeed well-deserved.
Although i still feel that i could have studied more;
if not for some distractions.

For some reason,

A couple of months ago,
a friend chatted me up.
He asked me,
"Why are you still wearing the Sisterlike Hood? I thought you were over and done with it?"

Well, don't be shocked;
apparently he refer to our Hijab as an equivalent to the Church's Nun's attire.
So i told him that public school's here do not allow the donning of Hijab;
accept our Madrasahs.
And that was why i was pictured head-naked in my school uniforms all along.

But that wasn't the issue.
The issue here is that i found an excerpt from the internet;
(mind you, this excerpt's writer is someone prominent.)
On the issue of whether wearing Hijab is compulsory;
he wrote this:

To wear the Hijaab is certainly NOT an Islamic obligatory on women. It is an innovation (Bid'ah) of men suffering from a piety complex who are so weak spiritually that they just cannot trust themselves!

i love honey.
the best way to take honey is by dissolving it in water
without added heat and early in the morning,
that’s how Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) used to drink it.
however, i take mine with fresh milk.
yummy~

listed below are some common problems which
can be cured by honey:

for burns: apply freely over burns. it cools, removes pain and
aids fast healing without scarring. apart from being a salve and antibiotic,
bacteria cannot live in honey.

bed wetting: a teaspoon of honey before bed aids water retention
and calms fears in children.

sleeplessness: a dessert spoon of honey in a mug of hot milk

hyperactivity: honey is a mild sedative with minerals, vitamins, amino acids etc.
replace all white sugar with honey.
white sugar is highly stimulating with no food qualities!

i'm blogging from the comfort of my own lappy now.

not a newborn. just re-born.
but still, always my sweetheart.

i think a train just passed by
& i tell you, i'm pretty shaken by
the noises it made.
somehow it all sounded so...... war-ish.
loud. metal. threatening.
(it's really still and quiet coz it's still 4am in the morning so
i hope to be excused for being scared by a passing train)

1. SINGAPORE ZOO

my third time to the singapore zoo.
saw so many new things.
& things that brought me back to when
i was seven; the last time i went there.

the complimentary tickets that got us into the zoo
didn't include tram rides.
we decided to just walk, thinking that
a nice long stroll would prevent us from missing any enclosures.

enjoyed the animal shows very much.
but definitely not the walking.
thinking that tram tickets could only be bought at the main entrance,
we went on foot throughout the whole zoo till
we get back to the main entrance.

wanted to get tram tickets so that we need not walk,
this time, to the kids' playground.
got us speechless when we were told that
tram tickets could be bought from any of the tram stations.

ice cream, splashing in the water
& plush cheetahs, tigers & lions,
before we finally head home to let our feets rest.

2. CHANGI AIRPORT

Taufik Monkey revived my memories about legendary Malay rockjiwangretak songs.
Was surfing2 Youtube and i typed in a recalled band name and i was happy!
The good ol' days songs.
But now that I'm a young Adult *ehem*, i realised that the song sang by the singer make no sense to himself.
Im talking about the song "Bidadari" by Lela.
Heard of it? No?
Here goes.

First, the singer looks 14 to me.
Second, the song lyric is about how a MAN perceive this WOMAN'S existence in his life to be of precious value and whatnots.
Third, since i mentioned MAN, a 14 year old can't be a MAN right?
Fourth, look at the 'heroine' used in that clip. She looks 12 to me. And that definitely does not qualify for the term WOMAN.
So, what the hell was the M country or the Malay rock world was trying to promote by letting a minor singing an adult song?
I thought boys at 14 are struggling in Sec 2 and girls at 12 are sitting for PSLE!?

I didn't sleep the whole of yesterday trying to complete my 4,052 word Japanese Religions essay.
Not an easy feat i must say.
I really hope my hard work pays off.
As much as my frens & seniors keep telling me not to worry about my CAPS,
i have no choice BUT to worry.
You see, I've made lots of plans; and they are dependent on my CAP Score.
But oh well never mind,
there's still the Exams as the defining factor at the end of the day.

Speaking of which, i remembered my ex-colleagues telling me that i really look stern and sometimes unapproachable when i don't smile.

For once in my life, i never knew sleeping was tiring.
Even so, i still love to sleep.
But nowadays, my sleep tends to be of the napping mode.
I just can't seem to have a proper night's sleep
because of my fear for the exams.
Sigh. This is just another phase of life i guess.

It's 2:41 pm! & I've just had my lunch! Yippeee.
Oh yes, and these days i love sweets.
Just hope that my teeth wont fall off by the end of may.
Heh.

Yesterday, my brother asked me yet the same question;
"Kakak, when are you getting married?"
And so i gave him the same answer yet again;
"Kau tak nampak aku tengah menonggeng belajar ni???!"
And since he is so loyar burok;
"Kalau menonggeng boleh blajar, kahwin tak boleh menonggeng ker??"
and i burst out laughing!
Hahaha.

This whole conversation has never make sense.
Maybe, at 17 i feel that he's not of a confiding material yet.
Or maybe, i just have the tendency to keep such personal things to myself.
Of coz everyone wants to get married,
Me, no exception.

these are also the same questions that
me & Dear have asked ourselves time and again.

Everyone knows marriage is not just a passport to legal sex (for us Muslims).
It entails more than that!

For once, i thanked Allah that i have Brothers instead of Sisters; because now i know what the term "opposite attracts" really mean.

What i did TODAY:
1) Bros taught me how to strum the guitar. Notice the word "STRUM" and not "PLAY". hahaha.

hey Dear Readers
it's been so long since i last posted an entry here.
a lot has happened
& more happening, i'm sure.
i pray God's been keeping each & everyone of you,
safe from any negative elements;
physically, emotionally, mentally & spiritually.

this entry is not only going to be long, but
also very, very image-heavy.
it's an isolde's entry afterall (:

i'm so proud of emrdyl for keeping the blog going.
i do feel bad sometimes while i'm gone.
but i just do not have the good writing ability emrdyl has.
so it's extremely bad for me to try blogging when
i'm not prepared.
yes, i do prepare my entries as carefully as i can.
i know i make loads of mistakes in my entries.
but really, it's a whole lot worse when
i just let myself type away freely.

stronger & more patient; alhamdulillah

it's been a more than a week, if i'm not wrong, since
i fractured my toe.
abang said it reminds him of a subutex abuser;
the swollen & black toe.
nothing can be done except that i rest my feet as much as i can.
but i couldn't.

car ride on a sunday morning to school
& my collection of the revision lecture i.d. stickers.

i've my revision lectures to attend.
yes, i even have lectures on certain saturdays/sundays.
most of the time, my dad will not be able to
send/fetch me coz he'll be at work.
the walking done during the journey to/from/in school
and the numerous stair climbing
causes me to strain my injured feet and it'll be
all swollen and blue by the end of the day.

even so, i still managed to get emrdyl
a birthday gift after school, one evening. (:
(emrdyl! you better love it! coz it's the effort that counts
& my effort is many many okay! hahahax!)

took the pain away from my feet.

on the way back home from school after a
full-day maths lecture,
i persuaded sheerah & syah to accompany me
to swensens (westmall) where i got
my much craved-for chocolate crunch.

i know i was putting myself in a lot of risks.
especially since the both of us are
fragile, in one way or another.
but i told myself, i will be careful.
& i really was VERY careful.

now i know what it's like,
to share a bed (& for us, a pillow. hehex),
with a member of the opposite sex
who not only snores,
but sweats a lot even without his teeshirt on.

full-day revision lectures.

i shook off the fatigue in me
as my family, the lil angels & i,
made our way to one of my mum's sister's place
right after my lecture.

yeaps, car shots are unofficially a must for us!

on the way up to my aunt's place,
i made a phone call to tell everyone who's present
at the house that,
we're on our way up and they were to get themselves ready.

the door was closed, and the corridor was silent.
so different from how it usually is.
as soon as the lil angels gave their salams-greeting,
the door opened with almost everyone on my maternal side
screaming SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!, smiling and laughing away
in the house that's well-decorated for the occasion.
the lil angels were so surprised,
danial just stood staring and liyana,
who must be so touched by what we've done for them,
became all teary-eyed.

the girl with her gift, a cute pink ipod,
from her daddy who's all the way in korea while the gathering took place.

& what really made the event extra special,
was the presence of the lil angels' elder sister, afiqah.

aunty noor, their gorgeous mummy, joined in the
unwrapping of presents
when her siblings (my aunts & uncles)
gave her, her belated birthday gift.

i wish i had taken this picture while all the cousins were still around
and that both abang (who was working last night)
& bro khalis (working all the way in saudi arabia) are present for the gathering.

it's been years since us cousins met up with afiqah.
but she was never forgotten.
she's grown up to become such a lovely lady.
she fit in right away coz no doubt, she is one of us.
forever & ever.

before the day ended,
the few of us who were still in the house after it all,
went about camwhoring away.

I believe i have mentioned once that someone-i-dun-even-noe have been sending me rather nice-to-read emails.

Well, whoever you are, i appreciate them.
And to show my appreciation, I'm gonna post one of your emails here.

It's about friendship.
When i read it, i find that somehow, what he wrote are true.
I mean, friendship in this dog eat dog world is just so fragile and vulnerable.
Some friends are worth to keep, treasure and remember although they might be somewhere out there busy.
But most are just not worth remembering at all.
Some are so nice that you wanna treat them like precious princess and prince.
But others are just so annoying that you feel like slapping their oh-so-flawless face every time you see them walking by.
As for me, I've been there, done that and i ain't looking back to the seeds I've sown and thrown.
I bet Isolde would agree with me on this.
Coz both me and her have been through the dirty phases and it's indeed such a blessing to find and have someone whom i am very comfortable with.
You know, friendship is just like relationship; its the same.
Sometimes you want it to last,
but when high tide comes, somewhere somehow, it ends and leave a scar in your heart.
They say friends come and go and some are just like a passing phase
and they also say its easy to make friends but its even super easier to make enemies.
Upsetting right?

Okae, enough of sidetracking, lets get to the email proper.

"The only way to have a friend is to be one ".

Below are some qualities which are required to maintain a long term friendship.

3. LISTEN TO YOUR FRIEND: A close friendship should consist of two people (or more if desired) who are able to be an active listener and active talker. You should be able to talk freely to him/her; whining and complains alike.

4. TRUST YOUR FRIEND: Be a person who shares things. Friendship is all about sharing your time, thoughts, opinions, Joy, Sorrows etc . Sharing is not possible without trust. Trust in your friend.

5. KEEP SECRETS AS SECRETS: A good friend never reveals the secrets of the friend to others. So, select one who will keep secret and be one who keep secrets .

6. STAY WITH YOUR FRIEND IN GOOD AND BAD: Friendship is always a responsibility . We should not treat friendship as an opportunity . Be with your friend in every moment of his/her glory and gloom. For some, it is easy to be in good things, but not in bad times. Bad times test true friends. So are the good times .

7. TRY TO MAKE YOUR FRIEND A SUCCESS: Henry Ford says, " My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me. " At the same time take all possible help from your friend to make your life a success . Friendship is a mutual success. Give in abundance, take in abundance .

Aniwae, brought my bro for a post-berthdae celebration.
It's great to spend the evening together since it's been a long time since we
have a heart-to-heart talk.
Told him about my Hero and he's pretty receptive about it.
That's a good start tho.
Dad fetched us from the Esplanade since we were too tired to squeeze into the public transport.
On the way back, guess what
a bird committed suicide by flying towards my dad's speeding car
and went underneath and i swear we all heard the grinding sound. *frightened*
I knew and i swear i saw the bird - dead.
EEEEEEYEWWWWWWW.
Didn't your momma told you not to fly around wildly?
Sigh. That's a waste of your life bird.
Your bad.
And THAT'S horrifying okay.

Aniwae, i kinda miss the long rides + blasting music in my ear to school.
And since Vacation is nearing (and that means exams are coming!!!) i know i would miss school even though i don't fancy waking up in the morning to rush for the bus.
Speaking of which, i'm going to miss the bus too.
I still remember how excited me and Isolde was before Semester starts last year.
I could vividly recall the time when we were scouting around to purchase our stationaries;
And the time when we were mugging for our MLA paper back in JC days;
I tell you, school and studying is pure bliss when its at the fun side & i do love it.
But when hell break lose, you'll just noe where to find solace.
For me, its THE BED.
=)

Memories..they sure do make you smile when you think about them.
I did and i know i still am.

2 days ago, in a frantic tone, i rang Isolde up at almost 10pm at night.
Guess what, my beloved Lappie got crashed
and i was super frightened.
One, i fear being gobbled up by my parents,
Second, i fear my Lappie's dead for good,
and that means i'll be paying back the almost $2k for nothing.
But with Allah's grace and with Isolde's assurance of coz,
my Lappie's find now.
Just that, i did what i was suppose to do since there wasn't any way out - Reboot.
Yes, you saw it right; i reboot my Lappie
and that means that MOST of the pixies i stored in C drive was gone.
Gone forever. =(

been a few days since i last logged on.
quite a lot's been happening within these few days.
i didn't go through these days alone.
i had people who were from many stages of my life with me.
friends and families.
gifts from Allah.

before the revision lectures started on tuesday,
i went back to school on monday.
sat through the preview lectures for
management economics and auditing.
realised dat i totally underestimated what to expect
for yr 2 and yr 3.
at the same time, i also realised that
there's so much that i need to improve on and upgrade
in this little amount of time left.

i put my thoughts and worries on pause while
i met up with two of my much missed
jc babes: adeq (saerah) & chip (fizza)!!!

we tried contacting dale (fyda) but apparently,
she left her hp with her friend so we couldn't reach her.
or else, we'd be able to have a complete picture of
the four of us eating at our favourite puncak restaurant
having our usual dishes just like old times.

had maths revision lecture by our local lecturer the following day.
it ended at noon.
knowing that there will be a preview lecture on
financial reporting at 1pm,
my some of my uol-girls and i decided to sit for it
before heading for lunch at megabites.

feda, yana & ida joined us on wednesday for
the 8-hr stats revision lecture by the london lecturer.
by the end of thursday,
when we had our econs revision lecture by the local lecturer,
most of us are just so tired and could sense that
our attention span's diminishing slowly.
we pray hard, that Allah will give us strength
to go through the many revision lectures ahead.
especially the first week of april.
that's when we'll have almost a whole week straight
of revision lectures by london lecturers, whereby
each lecture will be for 8 hours.

a secondary school girl friend, aishie (aisha)
chat up with me sometime during the week.
thanks to Allah, we're now almost like how we used to be,
back in our riverside days.

this morning, my darling primary school friend,
none other than emrdyl,
and i, had plans to spend time catching up with each other
at a hawker centre somewhere near ikea.
a hawker centre coz emrdyl, being such a chick,
claimed that she's dressed too simply so
she doesn't want to go to any malls.
we were all psyched up but it all didn't happen.
anyway, here i am, blogging while excitedly waiting for nightfall
when emrdyl will be online and we'll then get to
update each other on the many things that's been
going through our hearts and minds.

my mum and i had a good time catching up with
my aunty and danial who was down with fever online just now.
guess emrdyl's sudden change of plans is
like doing me a favour coz i got to get all wacky
and exchange funny faces with danial and at the same time
hear him say "i want to talk to kakak zanna"
which totally melt my insides.

this week gave me the opportunity to
grow stronger, more determined and patient.
i've learnt to never hate; but i've also learnt to not care.
especially when i'm supposed to be hurt.

when i mentioned that i've learnt to not care,
that doesn't mean i've now got a heart of stone.
i have so much faith, happiness, drive, concern & love
pumping in this little organ of mine. for all time.
one of the many people my heart goes out to,
is my childhood best friend:
abang.

i can't imagine waiting for the one,
who wore matching TMNT tshirts with me,
outside the operation theatre.
the one who came first before kakak
in my best friends list.
20th april.
i'm glad i won't be having any revision lectures that day.
sissy and i promised ourselves that we're gonna be there for him.
we shall be praying hard for him.

I screwed up BIG time.
I'm just afraid i won't be able to sustain it.

Should i execute 'Plan B' instead?
But, i don't like the department.
At least, i don't want to taje the risk of being under them.

On one hand, he's okae.
And on another, she's not.
Why did i get myself into this sorta mess in the first place?
Is this the side-effect of stress;
that I don't realise what the heck that I am/have been doing?
Damn!
I know what i want but somehow I give way to my brain more than my heart.
Knowing well that my brain can be a lil nasty than my heart sometymes.
I can't seem to get things done like how i want it to be.
I used to be able to do that;
but somehow, i lost the touch along the way.
To what?
To whom?
I don't know.
Its just not there anymore.
The vibe;
seems gone.
I don't want to be the one wailing and whining at the end of the day
and neither do i want to be remorseful in time to come.
I can see myself changing.
But i don't want to change already.
Because i am happy with the way i am.
However, the urge to change seems greater than the urge to remain the same.
Yes, change can be beneficial but
at this juncture of my life
changing seems to have another type of effect.
And i'm hating it.
I hate the fact that i've become someone i don't know.
I hate the fact that i've become somone distant from the real me.
And i hate the fact that when i look into the mirror, i can only see a shadow.

And to think i thought i was wiser.

good morning :)

that's what i woke up to,
the day after i ran away from
where i am right now.

then, with the beautiful sunrise in the background,
dad & amar (cousin) played table tennis
while i watched them a few feet away.

the day was filled with me attempting to
play table tennis like li jiawei,
tucking into my grandmama's delicious cooking,
watching amar & amir (cousins) shoot the trees at
the garden behind the house using cheap-but-powerful toyguns,
(dad shot my back using the toy and man, i stood rooted to where i was
for quite sometime; all speechless coz of the pain which i had initially underestimated)
laughing at didi's (cousin) cute babytalk and adorable antics

"didi pegi pasar beli aper?
----- sarpan. (sarapan)
lagi?
----- sayo. (sayur)
lagi?
----- aging. (daging)
lagi?
----- oton. (sotong)

----- ampesh. (pampers)"

amar and sissy went crazy with grandpapa's bike.
took turns being rider/pillion
under the scorching sun.
i just drove and drove without any destination in mind.
& amazed myself with my hidden skill in parking.
inside me, i believe amar and sissy share the same sentiments:
we just wanna move along. move along. move along....................

the day before was quieter.
before the rushdans arrived,
grandmama and the nazrans (ladies only),
went to the salon.
grandmama and sissy got themselves a haircut each
while i chose a new colour and did a little treatment.
though mum and i didn't get to do our facials
(no one picked up our call so we assumed they're closed.
i wonder if it's because it's a jumaat. but they aren't guys. hmmx....)
we managed to de-stress by feeding ourselves with the
gossips from the magazines available in the salon.

there you have it.
my sweet escape for the weekend.

Speaking about ‘Monday Blues’,
I personally have to rebut that term today
because I had a good start at school today.
Speaking about ‘Expectations’,
I have to agree with LadyLuck that at times,
things happen without you least expecting it.
And boy, was I relieved!
First A for the semester! [But I feel this is only a landslide victory. =(]
Alhamdulillah!
This is to quote my mum: “berkat Valentine’s Day”.
Yet again, V’day has been an overturn of events this 2007.
Speaking about ‘Miracles’, sometimes it’s hard to come by.
But when it starts knocking on your door,
You’ll be grinning from ear to ear.
I did.
Recalling back my conversation with Isolde the other day
About her simple pleasures,
I couldn’t agree with her more.
Indeed, in times like this
Simple-simple [pardon my singlish kata ganda! Sigh.] things like
Admiring the sun from outside the SBS window in the morning,
listening to a kickass music on Ipod,
Queuing up for an orgasmic Mocha Freeze or even
Just sitting at Coffeeclub looking at people walking pass
Is enough to turn a frown into a smile
Enough to turn a yelp of cry into echoes of laughter.
For once after soo long, I laughed until I shed tears today.
Burok I know, but who cares?
What matters most is,
I know I’m able to smile again
Despite what had happened.
I know I have people around me that
Will always be my personalize sunshine; after the rain.

i couldn't help envying her lovely pair of eyes that was enhanced by

together with sis nor and i, there were other brothers and sisters
from the faith hub. <--- (click).
all of the brothers and sisters, especially,
emitted this aura of kindess and sincerity.
effortlessly, just by being themselves, they made me feel
so welcomed being amongst them.
i could feel true Islamic brotherhood and sisterhood when i was with them.
it was amazing.
i couldn't help telling my family and kakak about them.
and they all told me how interesting it is to have such a society
in our cold, local environment.
emrdyl and i have Muslim friends from many parts of the world.
and most of the time, we get to feel Islamic brotherhood and sisterhood
only when we interact with Muslims NOT from singapore.
but faith hub's not part of what i've mentioned.
how faith hub truly shows that Islam is one,
regardless of who and what we are,
should be adopted by all Muslims especially those from our region.

to the brothers and sisters in faith hub:

i had a good time at the tour with those who were there,
especially the sisters.

the tour was totally enriching.
i got to see Islam in almost every imaginable way.
i read, saw, discovered and learnt a lot.
Islamic scholars, their inventions, architecture, art,
history and many more.
my group's really lucky we got a guide who
happens to have a wide array of knowledge.
his explanations and own personal background knowledge
managed to grab my attention through out the tour.
& the harmony centre @ an-nahdhah mosque
is a lovely and cosy place.
i love the mosque too.
especially the peaceful prayer halls.

insya'Allah. i'll be there someday --- Makkah.

as i laid around in bed after i got home from the tour,
i realised how wonderful the field of study of someone i know is.
slowly i recalled, i was told that a research of missionaries had to be done,
a study of archimedes's <--- (click) works,
readings and discussions of avicenna (ibn sina) <--- (click) etc.
all that and relating it back to Islamic teachings.
the tour showed me why the person is so into this
degree majoring in theology being pursued
far away in the land of the pyramids.
with that, may Allah bless this warrior of Islam with
patience, health, safety and everything that will help make the journey
a smooth & successful one; the jihad.

btw, currently, the person is to do a case study on
converts in singapore.
& of course, i introduced faith hub's website to aid in the work to be done.

i made a dash for the toilet before my dad arrived to pick me up.
after doingwhatihadtodo, i snapped the above two pic quickly.

You guys might have noticed Isolde's M.I.A-ness
But let me tell you something, she has just completed her Prelim exams
and therefore she's kinda burnt out
& thats why she's been not-blogging these days
& besides, as informed, her lappie's sick.

That aside, i hope she's enjoying her ass out dating with Sis Nor!
Blame it on my non-stop coughing.
Dah macam Mama Rock sekarang.
But, im just afraid my Asthma will come back.
& if that happens, it sucks.
I'll be like a wheezing queen.

On another note,
I miss people.
Certain people though.
People who have brought meaning into my life.
I have fond memories with them.
Happy & Sad alike.
& those memories are etched in my heart forever.
Some say i have strong sense of memory;
meaning, i could remember things from way back when i was young
and i still can recall them vividly today.
And not only visual images, but also verbal sounds.
They are in my head.
Sometymes i feel like im an alien
coz how many people have that sort of sense of memory?

And i personally feel that
because i have this characteristics in me
that's why i get annoyed & irritated easily
and get very short-fused
whenever i am around people
who have a digging-the-past kinda attitude
(read: orang yang suker ungkit)
Somehow, it just irks to be around them.

I don't see the connection of the past and the future
in lieu of the composition of a human being.
Yes, im a history enthusiast.
Yes, im a European History major.
But, on matter of human connection
i don't see why you should let the past
spoil a relationship.
They say, forgive & forget is the best cure
add a lil bit of compromise
and it makes the perfect solution.
But, i just dont see why you can't do it.

My personal take on this is, if you can't FnF
at least, practice on one.
And if you prefer to forgive but remember
i believe that its best that
you do not launch a personal attack on another party
by continuosly digging out her past issues.
Because, at the end of the day
she will be upset
you will be sad
and both of you will end up in another row of arguments;
about how life is unfair.
Its going to be another round of circles.
And trust me, no one enjoys it.
At least, i don't.

It's sad that some individuals
prefer digging to starting afresh.
It's a letdown.
The past should be made as an episode
where u learn from your mistakes.
The past should be made as a keepsake in which
should be placed in a treasure chest
and float it out at sea.
The past should be made as a challenge
for you to be someone better in time to come.

But, some people use the Past as a weapon
to provoke, to hurt and to critisize.
They use the Past as a yardstick to measure
a human's moral values
attitude and self-worth.

You learnt from your past to create a better future.
Not, use the past to annihilate the bright sparks ahead.
You make use of the past to make sure that you won't end up
in a repetition.
Not, use it to make sure that the person can never stand up strong again.

It's disappointing when you have such people in your life.
People who think that they are saints
with a holy past just because they have never had a relationship before.
And who look at others as satans
who have a devilish past just because they have Ex(s).

Absurd, i know.
This is life.
The world is divided into parts
each containing different individuals
who have have different brains
and therefore different mindsets.

All i can say is now: Just My Luck.

And whenever there was the advertisment on Suria
I would whine to my parents, telling them that i wanna step foot there
I wanna see the Dervish guys doing their spinning live!

I frequent Anatolia alot coz the food matches my tastebuds.
I used to love the ice-cream
& would find every excuses to drag my family to the different places in Singapore
Just to buy it.

I would often begged my dad to tell me stories of him and them
Them being my dad's best frens on the ship

~~My fingers are particularly ithcy tonight~~

I had a wonderful day today with the nephews and niece!
+ the cousins and auntiesuncles! =)

Okae, so here goes the much awaited post.
4th March 2007; my 1st nephew (on my mum's side that is)
celebrated his 4th birthday!
(note: actually his birthday falls on 26th Feb.
but due to his mum's (my cousin) busy schedule
it was brought forward.)
Besides, its a birthday party cum housewarming
coz my cousin just shifted to a new neighbourhood.
Anyway, being the Aunty that i am (hehe)
i had the instinct that my nephew (lets call him E-boy)
would love the prezzies i bought!
Its a mixed stationary set by his favourite cartoon/kids show
which are of coz PowerRanger Thunderstorm
(during my time i only know one form of poweranger. how time changes!!)
Barney and Tom&Jerry.

So when we arrived, look at what the heroes are doing:
They were soundly sleeping.!!
Too tired perhaps.
Btw, the birthday boy is the one in checkered.
And and i couldn't get to take picture of the birthday cake
coz apparently he didnt want to share the cake
coz he say "lawar sangat!"
Oh my!
Its a Chicken Little cake.
Instead, he let his mum cut another cake
(read: ader 2 cake la sey!)

Almost like twins already this two.

And as a complementary good to the masak2 set

i used to love buying all kinds of masak-masak sets
or macdonalds food/drink-making toys.
everytime my cousins came over to my place (then, hougang),
we'd all get busy blender-ing (the soft plastic blades really do spin!),
frying,
boiling (the stove was able to make the water ripple!),
mixing (the mixer works as great as the blender!) etc.
my favourite was: the macdonald's milkshake maker.
i guess my cousins loved it too (loves, tag me if you remember it and enjoyed it)
we get to whip up something AND gulp it down, for real!
but none of us anticipated the clean-up.

4 years ago.....................................

had to blur myself coz i was without the hijab (:
plus, i do not own a scanner.
so, the pictures are blur
coz i had to snap a picture of the polaroids using a camera-phone
i was too lazy to charge my batteries so that i'll be able to use my digicam.

i don't mind working from my sissie's or my dad's
but what hurts the most is that
all my precious photos are gone.
notorious jc days, relief teaching days (partying and camping),
the many, many days emrdyl & i went out together,
with my beloved lil angels,
with the sevens who've been together with me for 10 years and counting,
my pictures with my sim-uol girls were only starting to grow.

& my priceless fonts and brushes for my theraupatic editing on
my adobe photoshop cs.

Data Recovery From a Failed Hard Drive - Freezing Method

Place the hard drive into a Ziploc bag and seal it. To be extra safe you can also place the drive in an anti-static bag then place it into a Ziploc bag. Place the failed hard drive into the freezer for around two hours (you can try doing it longer if two hours does not do the trick).

As soon as you remove the hard drive from the freezer install it into the computer right away as the slave drive and boot it up. If you can access the drive begin recovering the important data right away. If you are able to recover the data using this method the drive will usually work for approximately 20-30 minutes.

I realised that i have been coming home
close to12 midnite every single day
since Wednesday.

we went over to Ayah's home;
to visit my oh-so-beautiful Nana
(Pronounce: Nay-Na)
*the effects is done on purpose. heh*

It's been a while since i last visit her.
2 Weeks maybe?
It's been a while since
we last had our private in-jokes.
hehe.
And the private gossip.
Just me and my Nana.
=)
But, amidst the smiles and laughter,
we can't deny the fact that
she looked solemnly sad;
and I know why;
In fact,
its made known to us
W-H-Y.
Last week's check-up;
revealed something.
Something unpleasant to the ears.
Yes.
Suggested Surgery.
Where you may ask?
And why you may ask?
Just one simple answer;
My Nana has been suffering from
Osteoporosis for the past 1 1/2 years.
No Kidding.
Period.

Moving on,
the other reason
why we went over to Ayah's yesterday
was because my cousin is
flying back to Melbourne
to complete
her another Semester of education.
And the flight's tomorrow.
We're gonna miss you.

And now, i have approximately 4 1/2 hours more
to finish up my dued essays and assignment.
Cause i have to rush for the 7-day kenduri later.

hmmm...

let us take a closer look at what's engraved on the black marble/ceramic tiles...

beautiful Ayat-ul Kursi & Al-Fatihah;
from the Holy Quran.
my concern here is that
we all know that there are a number of stray dogs roaming around the area,
i'm worried that since these "tiles" (i don't know what they are called) are
being placed on the grass without any supervision,
it could get trampled on by the dogs (or worse if the dogs do their business near it).
even we, humans who constantly make mistakes and are careless,
may accidentally walk over it.

hmmm...

ok, moving on.
(not that i have a lot more stuff to say anyway)

i wish i'm good in something.
i love designing on photoshop; but i'm far from good.
i've seen people who've created really amazing art works on photoshop.
i love reading; but my language is atrocious.
i love music; but i'm far from being musically-inclined
unlike what pisceans are said to be.
cook? sew?; no & no.
bake? clean?; i can but i received more critics than compliments.
do sports?; i play a few but it's been a while.

despite my very imperfect self,
the good that i don't possess in me,
i know that
my mum, my dad & my sissie love me.

I realised that
i have so many things
to update in this personal space of ours.
Just hope that you Readers
won't get bored reading em'.
But alas, its not an obligation to read also.
*heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeex*
So, lets start with what happen
before the frantic Wednesday.

Okae, Monday was a mundane day for me
coz firstly i skipped my Histoy lecture yet again.
(Read: dah pandai nak mampos, tu pasal la.)
Secondly, i realised that i haven't finish
reading that assigned one for Jap Religions.
(Read: Mati aku.)
But i knew i was happy coz
i have my Mocha Freeze with me!

Well, actually the plan for Monday
was for me to mug like crazy
coz my 1st ever german test was the next day
- tuesday that is.
So yeah.
Like that lor.
.
On Monday night,
i knew i was feeling very retarded.
No, not cacat but felt shitty.
Why?
Because i know: I
am super unprepared for the test
and being super unprepared means
the F word.
No, Not F*** but Fail!
Sigh. -_-"

And so the plan for the day
was to skip my Philo Lecture.
(Read: Dah confirm bleh dapat A perr *_0)
And so i spent my 10-12noon
supposedly mugging for my test.

Come 12noon,
i was having cold feet,
and i remembered sms-ing Isolde
asking her to come down to NUS
instead of me going over.
You know why?
Coz i know i would fail it.
And because i would fail,
i will definitely feel shitty
and so i would not have the semangat
to travel down to SIM.
heh.

And that also simple means
im skipping my Philo ttl.
*gulps*
And that also means
i an losing that once-in-a-week chance
to see Dear's Shadow.
How sad.

But but, when Isolde finally arrived at Megabytes,
I knew we would be going to have
a hell of a time!
*keehkeehkeeh*
Im sure you guys have known
what my prezies are for her.
So now,
let me unveil the treasure i received!

Yes, we had a lovely early
V'day Sisterhood Celebration at my school.
It was not meant to be celebrated.
Not meant to be commemorated.
Just a day to have fun.
As besties, as sisters.

But, never did i realise,
it was a short-lived happiness for me.
Tuesday.
13th February.
Never did anyone knew
what was in store
the next day.
The real so-called
Valentine's Day.

*the overwhelming relatives at the Pusara*

Eversince the shocking news,
everyting seems NOT to fall into place.
& eversince she went away,
everything seems blurred.
It was and still is hard to digest the fact that she's gone.
Coz it seems like only yesterdae we had a "conversation".
My Nenek had Tongue Cancer.
9 mths of suffering.
Cannot talk properly and worst,
she didnt have the opportunity
to eat proper food until her last breath.
I could vividly remember the longing look on her face last Iftar
when my aunt invited us over;
having cooked my dad's fave rendang.
You see, my Nenek and my dad loves rendang.
and for the fact that she could just
helplessly watched her son eat heartily
we were all sad.
She was only able to show hand gestures prompting us to eat
or at least; eat for her.
Last Eid, we thought she looked radiant
despite being ill.
And surprisingly, she wore the same blouse on her death bed.
On her deathbed,
she looked as radiant if not peaceful.
She did not looked sickly.
In fact, she told my aunt that afternoon
that she felt so revitalized.
And she even watched a full hour of TV .
She was chirpy and bubbly
and much to everyone's surprise
her speech was better than usual.
At least everyone could make out most of what she was saying.
Everyone was happy; if not thankful.
My aunt called my mum;
tearing on the phone saying Nenek was fine.
Plans were made to bring her to Sentosa today.
To enjoy the sea breeze
and to have a small mother and sons gathering;
since everybody are free on CNY.
But yet, it was not meant to be.
Today marks 4 days after her death.
But all of us still miss her.
Yes, its hard to let go;
especially when things happen so suddenly.
That last kiss i gave her after sprnkling the Pacai
do not mark the end of my love for her.
But in fact, the start of another form of love.
In which i believe everyone has formed it with her too.

May God Bless her Soul.

for the loss of her beloved Grandma
late last night (14 February 2007; 26 Muharram 1428).

Dear Emrdyl,
forgive me again, for not being able to be there for you last night.
i wish i could turn back time, so that i wouldn't have my hp switched off
and that you and your family could be by your Nenek's side
when she let out her last breath.

but, we all know Allah swt loves her a lot and
InsyaAllah, her soul is being put together amongst those He loves.
& parting among loved ones is one rule of Allah swt in His creations.

remember,
hell is veiled in delighs; heavens in hardships and miseries.
may Allah swt help and guide you and your family through these difficult times.

Alhamdulillah for this beautiful friendship i share with Emrdyl.

we met up for a while on tuesday for lunch at emr's school.
truthfully, it's supposed to a be a gift-exchange meet up.
we know as Muslims, we shouldn't celebrate Valentine's Day.
we certainly weren't exchanging gifts with respect to the day.
but it's more to celebrate our friendship and to bring smiles to each other's faces.
anyway, the 14th is also supposed to be Friendship Day :)

i'm not sure if all of you are able to watch all of the malaysian channels
for example tv2, tv3 etc.
i am able to watch tv3, channel 9 and if i'm not wrong ntv7 at home
but sadly, i can't get tv2.
and even if i could get the other channels, i would have to fight for the tv
with my dad coz it's the same tv that has got the cable channels on it.
now, my mum and i have found an alternative.

This is going to be soo random coz right now im super stress (read: stress menonggeng) because i have 2 tests to study for tonight. I bet i won't sleep, notting the fact that yesterday was a sleeping day for me. I literally had several rounds of sleep albeit watching tv and doing my videoclip style on my darling bed. Anyway, for those of you who are wondering aper kebendernyer yang videoclip style? Its actually me singing; pretending that there's camera all around whilst the fan is on - with the blowing-my-hair kinda effect. Gasak korangla pergi imagine!

Anyway, the other day when i overslept (read: i ponteng eventually)
i was craving for a purrfect breakfast.
I remembered the last time i actually ate the breakfast; it was last year February.
