emrdyl's kurban bayrami

Kurban Bayrami Story
Kurban Bayrami stands for the sacrifice Feast and celebrates the Quran and Biblical account of Ibrahim's (Abraham in the Bible)near-sacrifice of his son Ismail
(Isaac in the Bible) on Mount Moriah, proving Ibrahim's complete obedience to God. In
the story, God saves Ibrahim's hand at the last moment and provides a ram for sacrifice
instead, praising Ibrahim for his faithfulness.

editted after [insert:bloody] BIDDING RESULTS

To my fellow Nus-Sians (Yes, you saw it right, i say SIAN. heh)

I truly understand how vexing it is to have to go through yet another round of Module bidding like some kinda pro broker cum share-players. And yes, i deeply sympathise with your confused, tired, windwhirled, indecisive minds that have been telling you to either pick this, that or neither modules. And i really feel for the fact that you guys have to keep adding and dropping and add them again and drop them again modules because you just really don't know which one to choose to study and at the same time to make sure that they won't play the villian as to disrupt your grades and vandalise your whole cap points next friggin' semester. Yes, by the tone of my typing, i believe you can guess that YES! IM GETTING ALL TENSED UP DOING THIS DAMN THING. And now, let me give you the honour of knowing(at last) who i am going to slave for next fall;

They are:

1) MR. EU1101E
2) MR. LAG1201 (German)
3) MS. PH2206
4) MR. PH2205
AND
5) MS. SSA2204

Do you notice that suddenly im taking 3 philosophy modules?? Haha, no im NOT PRO-PHILO but PH2206 is for my European studies, PH2205 is for my Religion module and that PH3202 thingy is a standby module if i fell head over heels for philo suddenly. hehe :)

Okae, poporozzis, i need to proceed to the grand stand. heh

OLA :)

terrible, snail-speed internet connections due to
the earthquake in taiwan.
i have a feeling the singnet users are more affected
than the starhub maxonline users
.
well, don't quote me coz i developed that theory based on
emrdyl's absence
on my msn list right now
(she's a singnet user while i, am a maxonline user.
hmmx, well, most of my other singnet friends are offline too).

moving on.

isolde's

happy boxing day! (:

cabbed to the postoffice in woodlands in the afternoon
as my family's got some items to send over to the crichtons.
can't remember how heavy the items weighed but it's funny how
my sister found it heavier than i did.

my big, little sister, made
her one and only big sister,
who is little,
carry it.

i was trying to flash a decent smile and avoid the box from slipping off my hands at the same time.

walked in the rain, splashed through puddles soon after that
just so that i could cross out one of the items
stated on the left side of this blog template.

i realised i have a weird habit of buying ice blended drinks or shakes
in cold weather conditions.

one example was back in the middle of the year, i bought a chocolate frappe
and sat alone at the outdoor section of the starbucks in genting while reading some magazines.
another was less than 10 hours ago, i bought a chocolate shake
from megabites and sipped it down slowly while
waiting for 61 as the rain poured down over clementi.

as much as you hate to see my family happy, fee sabeel lillah, i'll always be praying for yours.
but do forgive us, if we've ever done you wrong.

emrdyl's christmas gettogether

It was Christmas Day yesterday and guess what; i got to celebrate it too!!
Went over to my Ex Sec school form teacher cum civics teacher cum history teacher house which was at Evergreen Condominium somewhere near my old house & that black gothic church. (well, that was what I called it at least! haha)
Went there with Yana, Hass & Ct; so u could imagine how kecoh we were. Jokes after jokes after jokes.

Well, his house was cool - literally that is. Sejuk nak mampos; thanks to the blasting aircon amidst the cold natural weather. I like the christmas tree; it fits pefectly well at the corner! & i like the curtains! haha..Im amazed Mr Lee has a taste for malayish curtains. hehe

Food was good too; walaupun kehadiran babi menggugat selera.

Had a good tome updating each other about life and gossiping about siaper yang dah kahwin! 3 of our school mates were already married and are already proud parents!! *biological clock ticking* Can you imagine??? 19 years of age and u are already running all over the house forcing your kid to eat or waking up every middle of the night to milk? That sounds scary. Well, im definitely not ready.

I have to say that hospitality tak berapa bagus coz budak2 ciner was so into what's on tv rather than making appreciative conversations. And so as usual, we had to entertain ourselves with our old antics. hahaha Was really amusing. *big smile*

In all, it was a great day. =p

angelic xmas eve

guess what colours were we clad in yesterday?

i didn't really have plans for the day. and the night before,
emrdyl told me that she needed to get a gift for her ex-teacher
who invited her over for christmas dinner.
she then planned to head down to causeway point which
is just 2 mrt stations away from my home.
& so i chose to tag along.

Em: As a matter of fact, i really had no plans to have a christmas outing with Is. I had the feeling that i would be scouting the whole shopping mall alone like a lonely cinderella. hurhurhur But it turned out to be very exciting; especially during our "NeoPrints Revival Project". *elaboration below*

spent quite a while weaving in and out of shops just to
allow the queue at the metro cashier to shorten.
it was after some time did we realised that it never will!
no difference at the gift wrapping stations.

Em: Exactly! the queue was like never-ending. It got worse at the wrapping counter. But 2 cute kids turn the tables round. At least, they were a form of "entertainment"/ hehe

we were in off-white and green! whee!

i put my magazine & dvd shoppings for my korea darlings on hold
for these two princesses wanna relive
their past, jepun-machine-crazed days
which was really fun albeit the fact that our clothes blended in with
the background of the 2nd machine we went to and made it seem
like we kept changing our clothes.

sweet, simple & giggly-girly day out.

emrdyl: you're the best, babe! have a great time at your ex-teacher's place!

dear God, please watch over this gorgeous friend of mine always, for
she's the angel of her faraway prince
& God, please keep me safe always too, for
i want to see the day, they become one. ameen.

went over to lyn's place yesterday to get on with
the deco for something she planned.
felt like i've been away for a long time &
she's there to update me on what i've missed while i was gone.

laughter aplenty.
especially, since it's all inclusive of
mimi, the sister lyn never had.

lyn, mimi: thank you for yesterday. & always love like you've never been hurt.

a break from school, finally.
plans read: catching up on revision, completing assignments and studying for upcoming tests.
(:

may God protect all of my dearest friends' hearts for they do not deserve to be hurt. ameen.

emrdyl's entry.

I have to constantly remind myself that this blog is an OUR blog, so that i do not blog SESUKA HATI as in write about stuffs that the other party is unfamiliar or completely alienatic about. Okae, this somehow sounds so laki-bini. hahah NOT.

To clear doubts, thy shoult say this:
As for a word of spread for the Poporozzi, (quoting Gale Harold from QAF)," (we're)im straight, its just that (we)i don't talk about it amidst the good ratings" HAHAHA.

Okae, wadde hell am digressing about at 11.50pm???

Aniwae, the reason that im here hanyalah satu - Bored. I mean, look at me --> O_0'

Okae, that's besides the point. The point im making is that, since 5th Dec 2006 till todae, i proudly declare that i've been metamorphosized into someone not myself. HAHA! *go figure* and yes, im PROUD. u noe, SUNGGUH BERBANGGA.

On a note of concern, im actually quite weary to write certain stuff on this OUR blog for fear that u noe, u will never noe whose MATA YANG MEMANDANG & whose HATI YANG AKAN TERLUKA, TERSINGGUNG etc...

It's not as if i want to gossip but you know those nitty gritty resentments or dissatisfactions that happens and that you don't have the opportunity to RODOK or TONYO the person's face and so you got no choice but to blog about it. You know this kinda suff...To some people it is okae because this blog is HAK MILIK SI PENULIS; but others think otherwise. I mean, take for example Xiaxue (S'pore's blog princess), she can just write about anything she wants without being slammed by the media or certain HATI PANAS individuals. But the fact still remains, she's Xiaxue and we are or rather i am; who? Apa nama tadi kak? hahaha..

Anyhoos, i guess the more i type at this hour, the more very Malay i become and that's scary. Coz to speak fluently flowery Malay at this hour only means two things to me - ROMANTICISM or MEREPEK and i should flee before either one or both happens!!!

*AAAARGH!*

isolde: summary of an article
what do our friends reveal about us?
by alveena salim

article from: islamicboard.com

image from: parentsofbpkids.freeservers.com

The Prophet (saw) likened good and bad company: bad company is like standing next to a furnace. Although you do not get burnt, the smoke comes onto you and others can smell the offensive odour on you. Similarly, keeping good company is like standing in a perfume shop, although you may not be wearing any perfume, other people will be able to smell the scent on you. Traditionally it has been said that one should “not inquire about a man, but should observe his companions, for indeed one companion imitates the other”. Our Holy Prophet (saw) has said “A man takes on the religion of his companions”. The company of a person who delays or neglects prayer, is disrespectful to his parents or is promiscuous drags others into his way of life. On the other hand one takes on the praiseworthy characteristics of pious friends who can be a great source of help and support to leading a righteous life, as principled and morally conscious individuals.

There are some people who feel at ease with the concept of having a close friendship with a member of the opposite sex. They reassure others and themselves, by telling them that they’ll never pursue the matter forward because they “don’t even see them in that way”. This situation is similar to viewing a naked flame and wanting to touch it, (even though you know that you shouldn’t) in the hope that when you touch it won’t burn you…..but it still does. This is why Islam does not recognize this kind of friendship. Regardless of how pure and sincere one is on their side, and how pure and sincere the other person is on their side, it’s still inevitable. One can never put their hand on their heart and claim that they know what their male/female friend is thinking about at all time and one can never know whether the other is secretly carrying a torch for them. Which is why, it is better to be safe then sorry. One should also avoid so called platonic relationships with those whom they have a bit of a crush on, because that’s just asking for trouble.

Before making friends without anyone Imam Hassen Al Basri used to ask himself, whether this friendship would benefit him in the hereafter. The Holy Prophet (saw) said, "Allah (swt) has made it obligatory upon Himself to love those who love one another for His sake". In other words it is impossible for Allah (swt) NOT to love those who love one another for His sake. Therefore, loving one another for the sake of Allah (swt) can guarantee His love and is one way of becoming His Beloved.

This is a simple concept that holds many positive implications for the believer, yet how many of us love or befriend others for the sake of Allah (swt)? Not because we know them, not because we have any business with them, not because they have done us any favour in the past, but simply and only because being with them increases our love for Allah (swt). Unfortunately most of our friendships are based on worldly ulterior motives.

In conclusion, One should know that Allah (swt) has promised seven types of people His shade on the Day of Judgment, as a mark of distinction and honour. Two people who love each other for the sake of Allah (swt) are one of those people. A friendship based on the love of Allah (swt) is of a divine nature.

Imam Abu Hamid Al Ghazali said:
Live as long as you may, for verily you must die.
Love whoever you wish, for one day you shall taste its separation,
and do what you will, you will be rewarded accordingly.

May Allah (swt) keep us in the blessed company of those whose hearts are illuminated with His light Ameen.
